Urban life in public spaces

Here's a systems mapping exercise I did on what kind of elements contribute to a thriving urban life in public spaces. The diagram draws on the research done by William H. Whyte in his The Social Life of Small Urban Spaces (film; 1988) and Christopher Alexander, Sara Ishikawa and Murray Silverstein in A Pattern Language (1977).
